Story Spotlight
Baseline
What if the most terrifying thing wasn’t failing a psychological assessment?
What if it was passing one?
Baseline follows a narrator who begins noticing small inconsistencies between what they remember and what they’re being told is true. At first, the differences are easy to dismiss. A forgotten detail here. A misplaced certainty there.
But the deeper they look, the harder it becomes to trust their own mind.
This story explores memory, identity, conditioning, and the unsettling possibility that the person you’ve become may not be entirely your own creation.
📖 Baseline is one of the stories included in This Isn’t Unusual, my collection of psychological horror short stories.
Which scares you more: discovering you’ve forgotten something important, or discovering you’ve remembered it wrong? 🖤
